Since 1963, Cohiba Medio Siglo has been produced under the strictest control, as it was released specifically for the leader of the Cuban revolution. For over 20 years, it was available only to a select few on the 'Island of Freedom', but later it became available for mass sale, and now it is also in Russia. Cohiba Medio Siglo is created based on the very successful Cohiba Linea 1492 line. It has inherited recognizable aroma and taste from its predecessor, embodying its best qualities. The vitola is rolled from a special variety of tobacco grown in the Vuelta Abajo province. These leaves are used exclusively for Cohiba. Inside, there are Seco and Ligero varieties. These leaves have undergone triple fermentation, which is one of the key processes in the exclusive technology of making these cigars. The smooth Colorado shade wrapper has a bright aroma of caramel and cedar. The draw is characterized by light notes of tea rose. The first puff has pronounced sweet notes of burnt sugar and dark caramel with barely noticeable hints of rose. In the woody-nutty aroma of the smoke, there are hints of baked goods, but then they yield to woody notes and leather. The second puff is spicy with a noticeable presence of pepper, where woodiness is also well felt. In the aftertaste, you can sense chocolate and rose. Then the smoke acquires the characteristic Cuban 'dustiness'. In the finale, an unforgettable bouquet of aromas of cedar, nuts, dark chocolate, and spices with a barely noticeable grassiness unfolds. Even at the end of smoking, the cigar remains strong.
