Hoyo de San Juan from Hoyo de Monterrey has great potential, making its flavor even smoother. The vitola feels substantial in hand. It is beautifully rolled. The wrapper is glossy and smooth, with only minor veins visible, and the color is a medium between Colorado and Colorado Claro, a semi-matte light brown shade. The wrapper smells of hay, tobacco, freshly cut wood, with hints of mint and dried fruits, nuts, and delicious spices. The first third is very mild in strength, with a medium body. The aromas at the beginning are mainly woody, herbal, and sweet, with a floral scent, particularly rose. Overall, the flavor is very fresh and sweet, with some soft spices, cinnamon, clove, and pepper. The smoke is very thick and long. The vitola burns well and slowly, with a clean burn line, and the smoke is velvety and abundant. In the middle third, the aromas of grass, sweet wood, fruits, and tobacco dominate. There are also some nutty and roasted notes. The cigar remains very creamy and complex. The smoke is voluminous, and the burn line remains sharp. The ash holds well. In the final third, the strength of the vitola picks up — the body is now at a solid medium level. The aroma of wood remains dominant, with notes of hay and toast. There is a slight taste of nuts, caramelized sugar, chocolate, and coconut. Pepper returns and causes a tickle in the back of the throat. Overall, the smoke is still very creamy and sweet.
